Three disc set contains footage from Scotsman's weeklong visit to the NYMR in March, drawing record visitor numbers to see the legendary locomotive after its return to steam. The Spring Steam Gala was themed a Scottish Branch Line Gala with engines renumbered to reflect those running in Scotland. June saw the annual diesel gala with visiting Class 26, 40 and 55 engines. The Autumn Steam Gala was themed a Welsh Branch Line Steam Gala and included visiting GWR engines No. 2807 and No. 7822 Foxcote Manor. The home based fleet was also renumbered to reflect Welsh running Black 5s and BR Standard engines. 2016 also saw the return to traffic of BR Standard No. 80126 which will be based on the NYMR. B1 No. 61264 returned after a 2 year absence. 2016 was also the 50th Anniversary of NELPG and a mini gala was held with K1, Q6 and J72 in October.Running Time: Approx 400 mins
This three disc DVD set containts footage from January to December in the 50th Anniversary year of the closing of the line by Beeching in 1965. March sees the official opening of Platform 2 in Whitby, allowing the NYMR to run a more frequent service to the seaside town. The K4 and K1 double head over the 50th Anniversary gala. 2015 also sees the final year in trafford of A4 No. 60007 'Sir Nigel Gresley' in September. The K1 and K4 stay for the Spring Steam Gala and West Country Class No 34092 'City of Wells' and Southern Region U Class No 31086 visit the NYMR for the first time for the Autumn Gala. We also see K1 on the Esk Valley Line to Battersby and have included a trip filmed from the front of a Black 5 between Whitby & Pickering, showcasing the stunning scenery on the line.
This four disc DVD or Blu-ray set contains footage from January through December 2014. 2014 sees the opening of Platform 2 at Whitby allowing the NYMR to run five daily services into the seaside town. B1 No. 61264 was renumbered 61034 'Chiru' to commemorate the last steam engine to travel over the Battersby to Picton line in 1964. 76079 is returned to traffic in 2014 . The Spring Steam Gala sees GWR 4073 Class No 5029 'Nunney Castle' visit the NYMR along with A4 No 4464 'Bittern'. With the success of Nunney Castle GWR 2800 Class No 2807 visits the NYMR for the Autumn Gala and remains at the railway until the end of the daily running season in November. Former NYMR engine, S160 No 2253 is cosmetically overhauled prior to leaving the railway. The Santa Specials see visiting engine WD 132 'Sapper' haul the Christmas trains. The Diesel Gala sees visiting Classes 31, 37 and 55 .

The B1 is renumbered to 61002 'Impala' to re-create the last engine to travel over the Whitby to Pickering line in 1965 for the 40th Anniversary celebration. The spring gala sees B1 No. 1306 'Mayflower' visit the NYMR for the first time. USA S160 No. 6046 visits the railway in July and stays until October to cover the peak summer season. The 40th Anniversary celebrations in May see the double heading of K1 No. 62005 and No. 29, re-creating the same trip from 1973 between Grosmont and Pickering. The Autumn Steam Gala sees the return of new build A1 No. 60163 'Tornado' in blue. The Autumn Diesel Gala sees three visiting engines, Class 42 No D821, Class 52 No D1062 and Class 55 No D9009 'Alycidon'.
2013 is the 40th Anniversary of the opening of the NYMR on 1st May 1973 by the Duchess of Kent. The 2013 Anniversary gala was held over a 10 day period in May and featured recently overhauled L&HC No. 29 which hauled the original train along with K1 No. 62005 40 years ago on the official opening day. B1 No. 61306 Mayflower was the visiting engine, paying its first visit to the NYMR. Resident B1 No. 61264 was renamed and renumbered to No. 61002 Impala, to recreate the last B1 to run over the former Whitby to Malton line in BR days in 1965. The gala saw several double headers, freight trains, photo charters and mainline running on the Esk Valley Branch. J72 No. 69023 Joem hauled the saloon which was used in the filming of the Railway Children.

Britannia No 70000 is the guest engine for the Spring Gala. Standard Tank No 80072 returns from the Llangollen Railway and remains on the NYMR until September. The Olympic Torch travels on the railway in June between Whitby to Pickering, drawing thousands of onlookers to the stations and lineside. A4 Bittern runs the Esk Valley service at the Spring gala. The Autumn Gala sees the return of the N2 and N7. The Autumn Diesel Gala has four guest engines, with a rare chance tosee double headed 37s. The programme, which also includes the work of other amateur cameraman, begins at York in 1964 before heading east to the market town of Malton where a line led to Gilling, Ampleforth and Coxwold. A journey on the branch's pick-up goods gives a fascinating reminder of PB's rural freight operations in the 1960's.

We visit Lancashire when steam still ruled in the early 1960s right through to the final days of steam in 1968. The footage is centred around Lostock Hall. Preston and Carnforth and was filmed by former Lostock Hall (10D) footplatemen. We also have a bonus film of Lostock Hall in its final years as a carriage and wagon works depot and its eventual demolition in 1990. Loco's featured include 9Fs, Jubilees, Scots, Black 5's, 8F's, Patriot's, Crabs, Fowler Tanks, Standard Class 2s, 3s, 4s & 5s, Britannia's, WD's, Super D's and pre-grouping L&Y locos.
The 2009 'Tornado' Spring Gala sees eleven engines in steam over two weekends on the NYMR. Freight and double headers are seen on the first weekend of the gala and we also see Gresley, Tornado & 45407 work passenger trains between Grosmont and Battersby on the Esk Valley branch on the second weekend. The DVD contains bonus footage of Tornado on the mainline conducting its trials and tour charters.
For the first time in over 40 years, three A4 Pacific class locomotives line up together, in steam, at Grosmont for the LNER Gala. The K1 & B1 operate on the Esk Valley Line between Whitby & Battersby. V2 No. 4771 'Green Arrow' makes it's farewell appearance on the NYMR on Saturday 26th April 2008. An experience not to be missed.
